Romar Supply was founded in December 1983 by Roy Adair, his two sons, Mark and Ron, and his wife, Billie. Shortly thereafter, Roanne Adair Lasater joined the company.

Prior to launching Romar, Roy worked for 37 years in plumbing for Crane Supply in Dallas. As a result, Romar began as a plumbing and industrial supply house. By the mid-1980s, the company had grown to become a full-service industrial supply house serving manufacturing plants, boiler plants, OEMs and plants with process piping.

From the late 1980s to early 1990s, Romar expanded into the mechanical and HVAC market. By the late ‘90s, the company had further evolved into serving mechanical contractors and process piping contractors.

In 1998, after the passing of Roy Adair, Romar became a certified HUB (historically underutilized business), WBE (woman-owned business enterprise) and DBE (disadvantaged business enterprise). These certifications helped open doors for the company in several new markets and with many larger contractors, enabling Romar to experience rapid growth and achieve a large enough scale to serve virtually any industrial customer.

In the mid-2000s, Romar identified an opportunity to provide additional value to its customers by fabricating steel and stainless steel products. In 2008, the company added a steel fabrication shop, staffed by experienced technicians. Since that time, the company has firmly established itself as a regional leader in mechanical pipe, valves, fittings and steel fabrication.

In 2010, Romar opened a branch operation in San Antonio, to more efficiently serve its customers in the growing central and south Texas markets.

Driven by continued expansion in both its product lines and fabrication capabilities, the company was soon pushing up against the limits of its Dallas headquarters facility. In early 2012, Romar moved into a 116,000 square foot building in Irving, consolidating its three North Texas locations under one roof, while providing sufficient space for anticipated growth. The new facility, which now houses its massive inventory, a state-of-the-art steel fabrication shop and corporate offices, is quickly improving internal efficiencies, accelerating order-processing and enhancing customer service. The new building even provides enough space to store its entire pipe inventory indoors, protected from the elements. Romar currently employs 61 people statewide, covering North, Central and South Texas, as well as southern Oklahoma.

As it approaches its 30th anniversary, Romar Supply, Inc., is proud to be one of the fastest growing, privately held wholesalers of PVF and fabricated steel products in the country. The certified woman-owned business enterprise (WBE) proudly remains a family operation, under the care and direction of its founding families: Billie Adair, Mark Adair, Ron and Terri Adair, and Roanne and James Lasater.
